Connecting Social Media Channels
Before capty can publish anything for you, at least one social media account has to be connected. You manage this under Settings → Channels.
The channel list
The table shows every connected channel with these columns:
- Channel – the name of the connected account.
- Type – the account type: Facebook Page, Instagram Business, LinkedIn Profile or TikTok Business.
- Connected by – which team member set up the connection.
- Connected at – when that happened.
- Status – whether the connection is active.
- Actions – where you disconnect a channel again.
Connecting a channel
- Go to Settings → Channels and click "Connect".
- Pick the platform in the dialog.
- You'll be sent to that platform's login. Sign in with the account that holds the necessary rights.
- Confirm the permissions being requested. Without them capty can't publish posts.
- You're returned to capty and the channel appears in the table.
What each platform requires
- Facebook Page: you need admin rights for the Page. Personal profiles can't be connected.
- Instagram Business: it has to be a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. A personal Instagram account won't work – you can switch it over in the Instagram app under "Account".
- LinkedIn Profile: sign in with the profile you want to post from.
- TikTok Business: it has to be a TikTok Business account. You can switch in the TikTok app's account settings.
Disconnecting
Use "Disconnect" in the channel's row to remove the connection. Posts already published stay on the platform – capty can no longer remove them there. Scheduled posts for that channel, however, can't be published while it's disconnected.
A channel suddenly shows as disconnected
Platforms expire access after a while, and connections also end if you change your password, revoke rights, or remove capty in the platform's own app settings. When that happens, simply reconnect the channel – the steps are the same as above. See Something Went Wrong? for more.
Why this comes first
In Create you can only send to accounts that are connected here. So connect every channel you plan to post to first – then the whole workflow is open to you: Creating a Post, Step by Step.
