Creating a New Post

Whether you're on the dashboard, in the calendar, or on the posts overview – the "Create Post" button in the top right, or the "Create" item in the sidebar, takes you to the new post screen.

1. Choose platform & format

First, choose which of your connected channels (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, or TikTok) the post is for, and which format it should be published as (e.g. feed post, story, or reel – depending on the platform). You can also schedule a post for multiple platforms at once.

For a platform to appear here, the corresponding channel must already be connected. See Connecting Social Media Channels for details.

2. Upload media

Upload the image or video you want to publish. capty immediately shows you a preview of how the post will look on the selected platform.

3. Generate an AI caption

In the "AI Caption Generation" section, capty can automatically suggest matching captions – including hashtags – for each platform, based on your media and your Brand Voice. See Generating AI Captions with Brand Voice for details.

4. Fill in post details

In the "Post Details" section you can refine the generated text, add to it, or write your own – each platform has its own text tab, so you can adjust wording, length, and hashtags individually.

5. Schedule & publish

In the "Schedule & Publish" section, choose the date and time the post should go live. You'll also find a toggle for approval: when enabled, the post must be reviewed and approved by an authorised person before it's published. See Post Approval Workflow for details.

Live preview & AI insights

While editing your post, the sidebar on the right shows a live preview – so you can always see how your post will look on the selected platform, including caption and hashtags.

Once you're done, save the post. Depending on whether approval is enabled, it's either scheduled directly or goes through the approval workflow first.
